The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of muscle injuries, what are the different types, how they occur, and what can be done for treatment. Upon completion of the course, the chiropractor will be able to identify different types of muscle fibers, describe the repair phase, define DOMS, as well as understand RMI spectroscopy applied to the study of muscle. Furthermore, we review different types of muscular diseases, myopathies associated with drugs, the epidemiology of muscle injuries, the connection with diabetes, different conditions that cause muscle pain, and more. Additional subjects include creatine phosphokinase, cryotherapy, and faradic current.
